Get Down Moses

Moses, former leader of the NRA, dies at age 84 according to his physician, Dr. Zaius.

There is no report of what kind of gun was finally pried from his cold, dead hand.

As a fellow crackpot eccentric civil libertarian and head of the National Sword Association I would like to state that his steadfast devotion to one of the first ten amendments to the Constitution (The Bill of Rights) was commendable and will be missed.

In unrelated news, Soylent Green announces their new Oscar award winning line of snacks.

If the second commandment had been the right to bear arms I might still be a Christian!

RIP Mr. Heston

Hey, Jake --

It wasn't just the one amendment.

Heston had been a strong civil rights leader for decades. As Joel Rosenberg wrote:

Agree or disagree with him, this was a man of principle. In 1961, he attended a premier of one of his movies in Oklahoma. The theater was segregated; he joined the picket line. At a time when it was by no means politically expedient to do so, he marched with Martin Luther King Jr. He was, throughout his adult life, a staunch opponent of communism, McCarthyism, and racial segregation.
